Amsterdam is a city of culture. On the Museumplein, next to the beautiful Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art lies the almost 150-year-old Concertgebouw, where some of the greatest musicians in the world perform. This experience is guided by a qualified Dutch musicologist. Starting at the Museumplein, surrounded by beautiful buildings you will learn more about their history. Then you’ll visit one of the short free lunch concerts in the Grote Zaal (the great hall) of the Concertgebouw, world-famous for its precise acoustics. Before the concert begins you will get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the artists' preparation area, underneath the main stage. And you will learn about the history of the particular composer and piece of music that will be played. Afterward, there will be a chance to visit a nearby typical Dutch ‘brown café’ for a drink and a further talk about the concert. And lastly, a walk in the nearby Vondelpark.
